How To Clear The OTA Update Badge On Settings App
If you had jailbroken your iOS device running on iOS 5 and held off upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 Dev team's advice then you're probably getting annoyed by the push notification badge for the over-the-air (OTA) update on the Settings app that constantly serves as a reminder that you haven't upgraded.
Not any more as a jailbreak tweak can remove the update badge.
A new jailbreak tweak in Cydia called noOTA badge removes the push notification badge for the OTA update on the Settings app.

Can't remove this from iPhone 4S and iPad 2. In there a no jailbreak method? :/

Or you could install ifile, or another file manager, go to var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/applicationstate.plist and choose the com.apple.Preferences and then change the SBApplicationBadgeKey from 1 to 0 to remove the badge.
