How To Enable Night-Reading Mode In Any App
The new version of iBooks released yesterday includes a cool nighttime reading theme, which makes reading books in the dark easier on the eyes.
It would have been nice if there was a way to the enable this theme across apps such the Mail app, RSS reader app like Reeder etc.

Awesome, I have just been sliding the brightness slider from my spring board.

I think this white on black was there before too.

SO useful, and so simple! Love that this is a non-jailbreak hack. Thanks a lot! I've been waiting for this feature for years.

Already knew that but seems new to some people! All in all it's a good tweak thats already implemented in the OS

Its been there for at least a year i used it in my 3gs all the time

Nice, but can't compare to Cydia application Dimmer, which allows you to set much lower brightness than Apple minimum brightness. Works in all applications, managed via any standard brightness slider - in settings, or in multitask switcher, or via SBSettings. For me it is the only reason to jailbreak. Hopefully Apple will implement it in the future. I made an enhancement request. You can make it too to get more voices to Apple team. Just google "ipad feedback" and/or "iphone feedback" to get the apple official feedback links.

White on black has been around since 3GS came out in 2009. Almost 3 years ago. Idk how people don't know about it.

And this dude doesn't need to be taking credit for finding this "trick". It's a VERY obvious accessibility setting...not a trick

Right, I used it on the 3GS two years ago! If I'd have known it would have gotten me this much attention, I would have pointed it out then! It's amazing that someone working for iPhonehacks doesn't know of a setting in "Accessibility."
