Apple Makes it Difficult To Identify Future iOS Devices With Fake References in iOS 5.1 Beta
When Apple releases a new iOS software update, one of the most interesting things to do was to go through the configuration files to find out references to future iOS devices.

why does Apple even care so much? I mean it's not like it's going to do much if the information leaks that they're working on a new product. rumors are always going to sprout up whether there's proof or not

wher is the fucking jailbreak. Jesusrelease it. I hate peoples with that attitude

Fixed! Thanks for pointing it out.

way to inflate the install/download size. first make ota incremental updates, then this...two steps forwards, one step back.what a waste of resources.

Yes indeed! My 1 megabyte iphone now has no more room! Whatever shall i do?!

I don't think these few strings would use 1MB data. :D Nice reaction though. :)

Wow what a game, did not know Apple had time for this.

They should just put words saying to get back to your own life, mind your own business, and stop making rumors. People need to stop reading into things. A company is ready to release a device when they announce it. I for one am glad they are doing this.

Because Apple loves the element of surprise. It's kind of the MO and how they run ALL of their marketing.

rrriiiiight, I forgot all those iPhone prototypes were left in all those bars on "accident"lol but in all seriousness, what does looking at the file actually even reveal? we already know that apple is always working on the next inevitable release of their products (i'd write some more but I'm too tired right now ...)

This seems very unlike Apple. Has Apple ever tried to goof around earlier?
