Rockstar Games has released Grand Theft Auto 3 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their popular game.
Grand Theft Auto III was first released in 2001 and was the first 3D title in the Grand Theft Auto series.

it does work on ipod 3g, surprisingly enough... i was 13 when i got gta3 on my ps2.. unbelievable that a miniscule device like an ipod can play it now. bought it and enjoying it on my ipad2.

I played the PC version, to answer your question, it's been years since it was released, but I was thinking the lighting actually looked a bit better on the iPad from what I recalled from the original PC version. In the long video, it shows him running around on foot, that too looks a it smoother on iPad, less clunky than original PC.

But how well does it work on the iPod Touch 3G? I'm deciding between getting it on Android with my HTC Wildfire S or my iPod Touch 3G. Both are fairly close to each other in terms of hardware specs, but I think the iPod Touch has a slightly better CPU & GPU but the HTC Wildfire S has more RAM.

So exactly how well does it work for itouch 3G? It's only 3 right now so I'm really not expecting much out of my 3G as ling as it works decently

I have ran this game on iPod touch 3g (the iPod equal to the 3Gs). While the game runs and is playable, it tends to be very slow and jerky. You wouldn't want to play it too long. You would also need to install it via third party methods (like ****), as the App Store will not install it on anything less than 4th gen devices.
