Pre-iOS 4 Device Users Reporting Issues Downloading Apps From App Store [Updated]
Engadget reports that users of pre-iOS 4 devices are reporting that they're not able to download apps from the on-device App Store.
Based on this thread in Apple discussion forums, the issue seems to be affecting quite a few pre-iOS 4 device users.
Update: Engadget now reports that the issue has now been fixed.
Engadget reports:
Unfortunately for them, ever since a recent update on the 16th they haven't been able to download any new apps from the App Store straight to their devices.

I think they should push out reminders to outdated devices devs shouldn't hav to support the ppl to lazy to do a update at least once a year or two

The Title says Pre ios4 Devices. Then bellow the picture it says, "sync them with their pre-iOS 5 devices as a workaround to the problem." Who is effected, ios 4 or ios 5 users? I'm confused.

It should have said pre-iOS 4 below the picture. We have fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Tell that to people who can't upgrade their iOS... :-/

If this isn't a bug and its really apple purging its old users then i have lost all my remaining respect...If this is a bug, why cant they just revert to before they made any changes on the 16th Sincerely, Unhappy iPhone 2G user

This is just a little taste of what is to come. jail breakers, you're next. Can probably forget about jail breaks for 4s.

Buy a new fone cheap-o

New Safari app came out. It resolved all issues with users of Safari on the new OS, but if your on an older phone and upgrade it breaks your system as it is not backwards compatible.
-
By the way, if you jailbreak your phone, you hopefully had a backup done before-hand. To get the update, revert to the backup and upgrade. Do another backup. Re-jail break it and then push the apps down again.

Time to update!

I'm thinking that too. The new Motorola Razr looks rather impressive. Maybe one of the Samsung (clone) phones. What ya reckon Kiwi? Personally I'm getting tired of Apple's B/S and constantly F'ing it's customers about with regular buggy updates. I'm due for an upgrade soon. The 4s is nothing special and Siri doesn't impress me that much. I must be getting hard to please in my old age lol.

I am facing the same problem for past few days. I have jailbroken iPhone 3GS 3.1.2. Is anyone else facing the same problem. I observed the same problem on my iPod 3.3 which is not jailbroken. Could it be something to do with my account or again this is a bug on app store.
