HTC Claims It Already Has a Workaround For Apple's Patent to Avoid ITC Ban
Couple of days back, we had reported that the US International Trade Commission (ITC) had ruled that HTC has infringed on two Apple patents and had banned some HTC phones from April 2012.
At that time, we had noted that if HTC can work with Google to come up with an implementation of the feature without infringing on Apple's patent or remove the feature completely then the ban on HTC products won't have any effect.

i think apple should stop acting like it invented the wheel

Apple did invent the wheel mate so how would you feel if someone took your ideas that changed the mobile phone industry. Before the Iphone there was nothing like it and suddenly after it similar handsets start coming out. As Steve jobs says in his biography he didn't want any money from them he just wanted them to stop stealing his ideas which sounds fair to me.

Go HTC!!

so if a car maker comes up a an idea other car makers cant use it, all this creates healthy competition and more choice for the consumer.if only apple did phones you would be fucked. i own a iphone 4s and a galaxy s2 and i love them both. apple needs to shut the **** up and carry on doing what they doing and not worry about the competition and not try to monopolise everything

Are u serious there were tons before iphone. Palm Treo, Samsung theria. Tons of ppc phones. I had touch screen smart phones that dud pretty much every thing the iPhone could do years before the iPhone. All iPhone did was just make it into a mass marketable from and os. All the fan boys think the there were never any kind oof touch screen device before and that apple just invited the smart phone.

Htc's problem is that it has too many phones and they all suck. They should try to make one good model like apple.

Had a Treo, it was NOTHING like an iPhone, not even close!

i disagree, i have had a handful of htc phones. the problem isnt with the phone imo, its with sense. the best htc phones i have had were the G1 and the G2 because they ran AOSP rather than sense

I also have no complaints with HTC. had an EVO, bought a evo 3d. Just got a SGS2 and i love it, but i do miss some things from sense

This is all about positioning themselves for 5 years from now. Apple copies. HTC copies. Samsung copies. Google copies. MSFT copies. They hire away from each other. It's inevitable. The problem with patenting software is its ubiquitous nature and trying to patent is all these intellectual property suits. It'll be like the finger in the dike. Will only work for a while.
