Do tell how it was solved!I gave up after 2 hours Same as the others - just end up waiting for reboot Tried the extras button but no instructionsTrouble is my mac is g5 and I have to borrow intel PowerBook to even attempt it so I want definite instructions before borrowing again.

I found the link to the file needed for the IPSW step in the error solving section above"No identifying data was found Error:" even though i did not get that specific error.it still took three goes to get the jailbreak to run to success using the IPSW file downloaded from that link.So - persevere.

It keeps turning on during the second stage of jailbreak, and it freezes on "waiting to reboot", is it because my itouch keeps turning back on ? What do i do ? !

Try to do it on another computer. You don't really need to do anything with ipsw. i have done it on iphone 4 without using any ipsw, it worked!

reset to factory setting first and try the steps over again! make sure your turn off your device before entering the DFU mode.

when i try to do this it just says,"identifying" and then does nothing my ipod just sits there with a black screen and the redsn0w does not do anything any advice please?-thanks

I jailbreak my iPod touch 4G iOS 5.0.1 using redsnow but in the end apple logo just appears and turning to black then logo again.. I tried to restore but I got this error 3194. I don't know what else to do. PLSSS do help me.

what if after jailbreaking, the apple logo got stuck in my iPod touch. then when I tried to restore, Error 3194 appears. So I use redsnow > extras > just boot tethered now.. Did i do something wrong? I still can't restore my Ipod ouch 4G with IOS 5.0.1
