'A Slick 50-Inch Apple Television' Spotted in Jonathan Ive's Design Studio?
Ever since an excerpt from Steve Jobs biography revealed that he felt that he had finally cracked integrated Television sets, the chatter about Apple possibly releasing Televisions sets has got louder.
USA Today provides some more interesting details about Apple branded Television today. They claim that according to their source, Jonathan Ive - Apple's Chief of Design is working on a 50-inch Television set in his design studio:

at a 1000 bucks i would definitely buy one, and since Steve Jobs worked on it i know it will be amazing and revolutionary. I cant wait its probably the most anticipated announcement of the year or this decade for that matter

If the tv is hit at the 1000 mark at a 50 it should sell well since you get tvs with very very basic functions at the same price.....I think when folk say apple stuff is over priced clearly have not done there research...example the asus transformers actually most android tablets are cheaper to make than the iPad but being sold for the same price so technically it makes apple stuff better priced

For example if you compare the Macbook Pro 15 with i7 and some better GPU vs some other brand notebook with same/very similar specs you will find out that the Macbook will cost you like twice as much. Even though the built quality is most likely to be higher on the Mac but still...

Samsung will always have the best TV, Apple stick to Computers, iPad's and iPhones, BTW in these areas SAMS@#T sucks but TV's they are on TOP period. These will basically be a samsung with ATV built in. I am a Apple Fanboy but this is a terrible decision! I want a black, glossy, sexy, TV and Samsung is it!

Apple's place is in the STB market, but they will make a TV and only put their software there and keep themselves as a fringe player because not that many people will pay their exorbitant prices for a TV. I will only buy a large TV when it is at a clearance price and Apple never does that with their products so there is no way they will be less than twice what I would pay for a 50" screen. There are too many options that people play with: plasma, LED, LCD, etc and too many sizes. If Apple only makes one or two sizes they will be limiting themselves. Make a dominant STB and put it in a tiny case that can be easily mounted on the back of the consumer's screen and you will still control the viewing experience.

actually Panasonic has the best Plasma HDTV and Sony has the best LCD, Samsung uses the same LCD as Sony but Samsung looks so good aesthetically and is top 3 in internal parts. Pioneer use to be the best in 2006 but that day is gone.

I heard Aquos has a fantastic picture but Samsung doesn't suck.
