Apple Patents Hint at Thunderbolt For iOS Devices
Recently disclosed patent applications by Apple detail the use of Thunderbolt I/O technology, which was introduced in MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini in 2011.
The patents reveal the possibility of Thunderbolt I/O technology coming to iOS devices.

I think the inclusion of thunderbolt on future iOS devices is an excellent idea. The faster transfer speeds and quick charging capabilities are greatly needed.

USB3 would make much more sense so we know Apple will go with TB instead.

It doesn't matter (3.0 or TB) intel said this year they will start to implement it on PC's. Soon TB will be everywhere I bet where USB 3.0 is still not that big yet either.
