Network firm Arieso reports that Siri - the revolutionary assistant feature is resulting in iPhone 4S users using more than twice as much data compared to iPhone 4 and apparently putting greater pressure on carriers.

Arieso Chief Technology Officer Michael Flanagan had this to say in an interview with Bloomberg:

Voice is the ultimate human interface. As you lower the barriers,” consumers will use their smartphones’ functions even more often.

If the hackers finally bring it to my 4, I'll be using it all the time! I can't wait for the 5! The Galaxcy S2 kicks my phones ass!

I use allot of data & I guess my 4S has increased my data usage. However, I am not concerned as I am on O2s original iPhone tarrif that includes unlimited data. No way I would give that up. My calculations conclude that paying for the iPhone handset outright is much much more economical in the longrun. £25 per month for unlimited data, 600 min, and unlimited text.

Maybe the S2 hardware is nice but every iteration of Android OS to date has been ghetto compared to iOS. Beefy hardware is pretty useless in this case. I hear Droid users brag that they have a dual-proc but when I ask them when/how is the dual-proc utilized I get answers of "ummm I don't know" or "well it's not used yet but it will be."

Then Siri must use 4x as much data because at least half of the people never use it. I know at least a dozen people with 4S's and I don't know a single person who uses Siri with any regularity.

The most ridiculous thing about the S2's dual core processor - It's animations and scrolling are still jerky. Compare that to the iPhone 4 (a single core processor) which, at least when it comes to scrolling, kicks the S2's ass.Try it, hold your iPhone 4 in one hand and the S2 in another and scroll the applications page for both. You'll see the difference.

I am using it semi-regularly, but only when driving to either read back text messages or send text messages. And all ye haters, no I don't have to take my eyes off the road. I have a ford with my Sync. All voice controlled actions.
