Amazon Takes a Dig at iPad's Glossy Screen & Price in New Kindle Ad
When Apple launched the iPad in 2010, Amazon took a dig at its glossy screen, claiming it was less readable in direct sunlight as compared to Kindle’s e-ink screen, which reads like real paper with no glare.
Fast forward to 2012, Amazon has aired a new Kindle commercial, which again takes a dig at iPad's glossy screen and notes that customers can buy three Kindles (2 Kindle Fires for $199 each and the ad-supported Kindle for $79 will cost you $477) for less than the price of an iPad ($499).

More ad bashing, well at least it's more creative than how Samsung done it, gets the point across a bit better.

Not to mention the fact that it has very valid points as well. Kindle Fire and other tabs can't touch iPad for the things that the power users do, but for the 99% that browse the web and play Angry Birds they are better off not wasting the money on an ipad.

Nothing will ever be as capable as an iOS device.

Any idea when the last apple ad came out that took a dig at one of their competitors? (Was it the Mac vs PC ad?)

There is no apostrophe in 'Kindle Fires'.

dumb ad - y wud i carry a kindle to a vacation? the whole point of a vacation is to get away from it all..also - who is dumb enuff 2 buy 3 devices when an iPad can do everything?

because it's market to its specific audiences. duh! kindle reader to reads and read in "direct sunlight" (adults), you obviously don't read so you wouldn't know (indoor wanna be hippy). kindle fire for media and entertainment consumptions (kids). why not get an ipad that can do all that? why not get an android tablet can do tons more than an ipad? some people are to ibumb to know what open mind is!

Amazon is seriously crazy, lets see if they do the same thing after the Retina iPad comes along.

They've just been Amazoned!

Please enlighten us on which android tablet does "tons more than an iPad". This should be f'ing hilarious.

"y wud i carry a kindle to a vacation?" Some people actually enjoy reading. Apparently your not one of those people otherwise you would probably be able to spell and use proper grammar.
