Apple Pulls iPad From Amazon China; Authorities in Another City Seize iPads Over Trademark Issues
Tech in Asia reports that Apple's iPad 2 is no longer available for sale on Amazon China and Suning.com.
According to M.I.C Gadget, iPad was pulled from these website due to a notice from Apple and not from Proview Technology, which has been trying to ban the import and exports of Apple's iPad in China over alleged infringement of "iPad" trademark.

Its almost laughable that a Chinese company is suing on the grounds of patent infringement. We are talking about China, a country that has historically ignored patents, copyright and intellectual property? Guess that's what happens when your raking in %75 of the smart phone market profits.

It's not patent infringement...it's Trademark infringement. It's the iPhone argument that Apple had with Cisco back in the day. That was quickly settled out of court, but Proview is saying that their parent company didn't have the rights to sell the iPad trademark, which has so far held up in court in China. BUT...I agree with you on how ironic it is as there are so many companies over there who don't give a second thought to violating copyright or trademark on a daily basis.
