Apple May Launch 8GB iPad 2 Alongside iPad 3 at Next Week's Event?
According to Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, Apple may launch an 8GB iPad 2 alongside iPad 3 models at the media event next week.
DigiTimes reports:
As Apple has scheduled an event on March 7, sources from its upstream supply chain pointed out that the company is expected to launch two iPad 3 models - a 16GB version and 32GB version.

Stop with the stupid rumors. Have you ever used 8gb iPhone/iPod let alone iPad? You know how quick and easy it is to use up 16gb?And with the introduction of textbooks etc, 8GB would be outright ridicolous no matter what price point. Expect 16gb minimum for iPad2, 32 for iPad3, otherwise Apple is dumb and at least we'll see their overhyped stock plummet back where it belongs..

8GB ipad 2? i think it makes no sense, the IOS it self takes more than 1GB of memory, you will only get about 6.5 GB of storage space, and now apps are increasing in size, and the more updates a app gets, the more bigger it will get.

Just to give you some perspective, Kindle Fire comes with only 8GB storage and there is a market for it.

Yeah if a user just wants an iPad for music and web browsing and a few apps 8 is good wrought it depends so stop insulting btw this site is very entertaining with rumors

True, but the kindle also doesn't have the operating system iPad does, additionally, an 8gb doesn't seem realistic, given the current technology trends. More memory for cheaper. The most we can hope for is a 16gb, and price drop in iPad 2.

Yes I have heard and use iCloud. But when your're e.g. on an airplane with no wi-fi it's quite useless. And it's not like Apple does or will ever offer iTunes Match for videos or movies. 8GB is for wankers

BTW Apple TV 2 has 8GB yet it is advertised as having no storage. By your iCloud reasoning they might as well do the same for iPad..

i know but the Fire's apps and operaiting system arent as big as the ipad's. a tablet that has a dual core prosseser, and high resolution screen and really good camra should have enough space, and like a ipod 8GB u only have 6.5 GB of storage when its empty , so an ipad thats 8gb doesnt seem like a good idea...
