iPad 3 Pricing is Going to be the Same as iPad 2
Earlier in the week, a post on Chinese microblogging site Sino Weibo had revealed a price comparison chart of iPad 2 and iPad 3, which indicated that iPad 3 may cost $70 (for Wi-Fi+3G model) to $80 (for Wi-Fi only model) more than iPad 2.
There were some speculations that Apple may pass the higher cost of iPad 3's rumored Retina Display. If you were worried of the price increase then we have some good news.

Actually, iPad price is still expensive when consider the amount of manufacuring. And, it is too much gap between memory size. I wish somebody make a competive device soon

Your not taking into account the cost of Research & Development. A lot of money is spent keeping the technology ahead of the game. The development of a retina display this size had to have cost a ton for apple and its suppliers. Much of the money goes back into recouping the R&D of that display, and some goes into the R&D of the next product. I used to be an R&D chemist, and trust me my company and our clients spent hundreds of thousands in a single coatings technology before anything ever hit the market.

Not so much dissapointed about the missing 128gb version as about the 16gb still existing...they should've moved to 32gb base model last year already...

The 16 Gb model will always be the base model, especially now that most apps and services are moving to the cloud. Pretty soon most users won't need any music, pictures, videos or documents stored on their tablets, it will all be in the cloud.

Paradox, I am in R&D area more than 20 years, in electronics and chemistry. You do not need to mention about R&D because of most people know that. The price is defined by the manufacturer but decided by the market. And, the R&D cost can not be over than 15% of price of product specially the milions selling devices. And, it is a comsumer product not a development or equipment. I am talking about the pice difference between different memory size also. Please do not point out

i agree but think about it, what are u going to do with 128 GB of storage!!!128 is perfect for people who dont like icloud, people who love downloading movies, and have a music library thats huge, i have a 14GB music library!
