SMSmileys: Jailbreak Tweak Automatically Converts Text Smileys to Emoticons
If you're in the habit of tying smileys while messaging instead of selecting them from Emoji keyboard, then you may have noticed that the Messages app does not automatically convert them into emoticons.
SMSmileys is a new jailbreak tweak, which automatically converts the text or the ASCII smileys [such as :) etc.] into emoticons.

@Wiilt - LOL. iOS was innovative...now it's got difficulties keeping with the times unless you root...and even so it's still a PITA to work with. Nifty feature tho

Exactly why JB shouldnt be illegal. They cant keep up so we can show them to keep up with us as we're so innovative

Neat tweak but doesn't display smiley on receivers end when they have emoji installed.

This is cool but when you have this with you (Emoji) Why do you need this?

Even if you have emoji installed in only creates icons that you select. With this tweak it automatically converts the text icons like :-) to the emoji icons, wether you send or more importantly when you receive.Just install and look at one of your conversations in your message app and you'll see exactly.
