Apple to Unveil iPad 3 With Retina Display, Dual-Core A5X Chip, More RAM For AT&T & Verizon LTE And Also Apple TV 3 Tomorrow
While Apple's new iPad will surely be powered by a faster processor, we've heard conflicting reports about next generation iPad's system-on-chip. Some say it could be powered by a quad-core A6 chip or by an improved dual-core A5X chip.
The Verge now reports that iPad 3 will be powered by the dual-core A5X system-on-chip and not the quad-core A6 chip. The Verge also claims that according to sources familiar with the matter, Apple will also release the next generation Apple TV alongside iPad 3.

The A6 chip is quad core whereas A5X is a dual core.
