Apple Releases iPhoto For iPad And iPhone in The App Store For $4.99
Alongside the third generation iPad and a new Apple TV, Apple showcased a number of apps that took advantage of the improved hardware of the new iPad. One of them was iPhoto for iOS, which brings advanced photo editing capabilities to the iPad, using touch based gestures.

Crap. Was looking for it in the AppStore and couldn't find it realizing its probably only available for 5.1 and now it's confirmed. :(

iphoto for iPad does not work for iPad 1 !!!

no, it won't let you install it on the ipad1, but it let me buy it. So now another piece of software I can't actually use... Instagram was the other one...which means I can never update all, which means updating one app, being pulled out of the app store to see where it went and then having to go back, thirty different times, to get my software. Gah...!
