iOS 5.1 Features: Mobile Safari Now Opens a Blank Page Instead of Bookmarks
iOS 5.1 released couple of days back includes some minor improvements and bug fixes such as iPhone's battery life issue (though it is hotly debated).
Apple seems to have also addressed one of our annoyance with mobile Safari in iOS 5.1.
After upgrading to iOS 5.1, when you launch mobile Safari for the first time, you are no longer forced to choose from Bookmarks or History, instead you get a blank page.

After installing 5.1 couple days ago, I was scratching my head to why when I open Safari browser that my bookmark didn't show up. I know it can annoy some people, but it doesn't annoy me and honestly I like it when bookmark just pops up and all I need to do is tap on the site that I want to go to.I guess I'll just avoid using Safari on my phone.

Why is it we can't make it do what we want. Maybe set a homepage ?? I that's right daddy apple is in charge.......

I've been using a blank webclip to launch safari for about 2 years. It's about time apple got with the program.

Who ever shuts down Safari? It's one of the apps that I always have running unless I shut it down so I just open to my last page.

Apple should hv the option to enable n disable auto pop-up bookmark. And not forcing us how we use safari. That's why jb comes to life.

I agree with you. Honestly I really like the bookmark menu popping out when I first open mobile safari. Just one tap and I'm on my favorite website

So let me get this strait, you will stop using safari because of this. You do realize you can just drag your thumb all the way over to the bookmarks button. Sigh.

The real problem is the f'd up battery life.

Thats Awesome... my iPhone 4 much faster using iOS 5.1

and why is like that? Any improvements on 4S battery?

It won't stop me from using it, but I'd much rather have a helpful launch page like bookmarks or recent history so that one tap might get me there I want to go. It's all about some fake boast about load times.
