New iPad Sold Out For Launch Day in Apple's U.S. Online Store
It looks like the new iPads are selling like hot cakes. They have been sold out for the launch day in the U.S.
In fact, the shipping estimates for all the new iPad models have now slipped to March 19th, which means that the earliest you can get the new iPad if you order one now would be almost a week after the launch day (March 16th).
As we had reported earlier, Apple is also pushing back original scheduled delivery dates for few customers in the U.K.

-
wow. that is awesome. can i come over and play with it?
-
You'd have to be really lucky to get your hands on at the launch. The availability will be very limited.
-
I get mine in switzerland because the 27 citizens there wont all will buy one next week and in case they are sold out i will be in london on the 17th. It shows again that Apple is more a tech company than commercial retailer. With Windows 8 coming to tablets soon i wont be suprised potential consumers are not that patient or eager enough to wait for the NiP's long waiting lists!

Actually, Win8 is highly optimized for tablet. And, I feel that is a good OS. And, I think it is more than enough to fight with iOS. But, the software is not enough to be optimized yet. Maybe just some only. it is the critical problem. The people do not buy iPad to use iOS, they are buying to use Apps. It is the key difference between iOS and Win8

not that I'm planning on buying one by any means, but what I don't understand is why when Apple sees this happen for all their device launches over and over again time after time, why they don't better ready themselves for it. It's simple, make a million more. You know you're gonna be selling them anyways even if they aren't all purchased for launch day. I'm beginning to think that Apple actually enjoys being "sold out" just to keep people wanting it even more.

Just guess, 1. Apple do not make over forecast, they like to enjoy the sold-out for marketing purpose. 2. Retina display is very limited to product at beginning3. Apple make a something special for each release, it lead to generate very high demand at beginning. ^^

Of course they do, they want people to talk about it then they talk about it to their friends and next thing u no sold another 100 million units
