While we continue our coverage of the new iPad launch, we've some breaking news for jailbreakers. Stefan Esser - iOS hacking expert better known by his Twitter handle - i0n1c has successfully jailbroken iPad 2 running iOS 5.1.

I've done the same thing yesterday. I wanted to post a video on Youtube but I didn't want to mislead people. There's a way to do that from iFile. I can run iPhoto on my device as well.

You're right. You can go into your system through iFile or through a iphonebrowser and change your version. Therefore, this guy is a effin liar.

This is probably just like the 4s, he / she probably used a developer exploit or something along those lines and therefore there's a high chance the jailbreak will not be available until an exploit is found.

Does this person's previous success and creditability not count for anything just because there are methods to make Cydia say 5.1?!?

People, don't u know that he found a workable exploit before absinthe was developed? If you've ever read his tweet, he saves this exploit just for this since pod2g has for 5.0.1.
