Sparrow Push: Jailbreak Tweak Brings Push Notifications to Sparrow's iPhone App [Updatedx3]
Last week, developers of Sparrow - an extremely popular email client for Mac that offers Gmail integration with multiple accounts, labels, Priority Inbox and a Unified Inbox had released their much-awaited app for the iPhone.
Unfortunately, the only downside to what would have been the perfect email app for the iPhone (at least for Gmail users) was the lack of push notifications. The developers had explained why their iPhone app doesn't support Push Notifications.

Cydia package details say that the dev is looking to add notification center integration in the future. If Sparrow could send out lock screen notifications only then would it be a 'complete replacement for the stock Mail client'. Looking forward to this.

The only problem is that when this tweak is installed u are not able to run other apps in the background as u normally do... Found this out when I was listening to Tunein radio... Tunein would only run when the actual radio app was open... I uninstalled the tweak... Voila! Tunein radio worked as normal...

Another problem with this was that it reverted my lock screen wallpaper to the default battery display and it's now impossible to set it to anything else. In wallpaper in settings, the custom wallpaper shows, but not on the lock screen.Do I have to restore my phone from a backup? Something must be seriously wrong if the settings says I have custom lock screen wallpaper, but the phone doesn't show it.Uninstalled Sparrow Push but the lock screen problem is still the same.

This also has broke the SMS GV extension. It is forcing my phone in safe mode and several lock ups.

I was just wondering if there is a way to enable visual notifications so when an e-mail comes in it shows you what the e-mail is/who it's from on the lock screen rather than having to unlock the phone and open the app to see who the email is from?

We recently released an app called Mail Minder that does intelligent push notifications for any POP or IMAP account. It doesn't notify you for every new message, just ones you want to watch for by subject or sender. It's free in the App store. (Disclaimer: I'm one of the devs for Mail Minder)

I am having a problem where it was working fine the first day or 2 that I had it installed. Now I don't get push notifications for new email.

I have Sparrow Push v1.0.03-1 and never received any push notifications. Only badge count undate. When the new sparrow app came out, version v 1.2.1; updated it. I'm receiving both badge count and push notification.
