Siri Co-Founder Dag Kittlaus: Steve Jobs Didn't Like The "Siri" Name
You probably know by now that Siri was initially launched as an app in the App Store. Apple acquired Siri - the company behind the app back in April 2010 and used its technology to introduce it as a personal assistant feature in iPhone 4S.
Network World reports that Dag Kittlaus - co-founder of Siri who was the Keynote speaker at Technori Pitch, a monthly event for Chicago based startups provided some interesting details on how the company was acquired by Apple.

Siri is pointless because the implementation stinks. It rarely gets what I want on the first try so I just stopped using it. The idea is great, but it is ridiculous that Apple put their name behind it and then launched such a stinker.
