Jailbreak For Apple TV Software Update 5.0 (iOS 5.1) For Apple TV 2 Released
Hot on the heels of Chronic Dev team's update on the iOS 5.1 jailbreak for Apple TV 3 and Apple TV 2, FireCore has released new versions of Seas0nPass and aTV Flash (black) that are compatible with Apple TV Software update 5.0.
Seas0nPass now allows users to perform a tethered jailbreak on their Apple TV 2 on Apple TV Software update 5.0 (iOS 5.1).

Apple rob me of 100$ cuz my apple tv 3 sucks. Who ever does release the jailbreak becomes the champion cause it’s the hardest challenge and should receive donations for sure and will be remember every time I power it on. Well, nothing works on the 3rd yet. It'sNot broken. So the plugins they're talking about is for the new software on the 2nd. Or am I totally wrong.

I jailbroke my apple tv with the iOS before 5.1. I can't seem to activate it now. Did this happen to anyone else?

The apple TV's are beginning to be ore of a pain than they are worth. Imma going to go with a mini and XBMC 11 FTW.

I have an ATV 2, it was on 4.4.4. I jail broke it w/seasonpass, installled fine. Eventually script errors occured on EVERYTHING! Well to be honest it never realy worked well. After resetting it like 10 times, getting the blinking light, it eventually did not reboot. I took it back to apple and they gave me a new one. It came with 4.4.4, and honestly I am second guessing if I'm going to to use Seasonpass, Green Poison, or just leaving it alone. I have found a lot of interesting podcasts, but I do miss some of the XBMC stuff, and streaming content. My question: Do any of you guys encounter the same problems I have, with slow response, script errors, or having to reboot your ATV 2 a lot after jailbreaking? Also, any preference over Seasonpass or Green Poision? (Thanks)

Until I don't see an untethered jailbreak I won't upgrade to 5.1 I am enjoying it as it is. I live in Navi, thanks firecore for all your hard work.

What will jailbreaking your apple TV provide? Ive always enjoyed my apple tv how it is however it is a little bland. What will the jailbreak provide me?
