Ahead of the Lumia 900 launch, Nokia has just kicked off the advertising campaign by taking a dig at Apple's iPhone and Android-based smartphones.

Nokia has launched a new website 'Smartphone Beta Test' (www.smartphonebetatest.com), which features a countdown that expires on April 6th.

It also features a video starring former Saturday Night Live star Chris Parnell. Below that section, there are three videos - at least two of them seem to take a dig at Apple's iPhone.

Fail Nokia. Just like Samsung!. Instead of showing me what's great about Nokia they focus about what's bad on the iPhone. If this is they way they want to gain market share I say good luck.

Nokia used to be the best phone around but now they need to stoop this low to get some people to buy it then I guess Nokia is slacking in the market.

I used to prefer Nokia before any other phone. For the time, excellent UI, battery life and just what I needed. Today they are left behind the competition and these "commercials" will just make me despise them. FAIL!

I have an Iphone4, the new Ipad, and Apple Tv2 but Im not a fanboy. Bring it on Nokia and Microsoft and give Apple some real competition. Whats wrong with enjoying more than one product type? Give me something great to use with my PC and Xbox 360. More competition only leads to better products. As for the Ads, they might be negative but they are true. I hope they follow up with some positive Ads showing their solutions to the problems they have highlighted.

Sad to see Nokia in such a bad state. Nokia pretty much invented or pioneered most the features we love on current phones. once the kings of the mobile world and we probably wouldnt have phones as good as they are now if nokia hadnt raised the bar soo many times in the past. custom ringtones which eventually led to mp3 on phones. Nokiagood games which led to downloadedable games. NokiaApps, Symbian platform had this with .sis file before colourscreen phones was released. NokiaDecent Camera optics (at the time) NokiaMobiles with multiple features (not just txt and calls) Nokiaand one feature i wish came back that nokia perfected. changable cases. sure we have bumpers case for iphone but i miss being able to click the case of my phone and buy a nice new styled one, not add some crappy bumper case around my phones existing case making it look biggercmon Nokia, Apple needs a proper rival instead of the copycat Android phones

lol i love nokia and samsung spend so much time and money on trying to pick out flaws in others phones because they dont want people to know there flaws in their own phone. cant wait to see when its released whats wrong with it or lacking as most windows phones are

I can't wait until the Lumia 900 is released over here in the UK. It is so pretty! I’ve used my friend’s Lumia 800 before, and it’s made me fall completely in love with Windows phones.Could really do with a front camera though, which is one of the reasons I’m thinking about waiting to get the 900 rather than buying the 800 now.

Luv it. the vids appeal to my sense of humour. I use a Galaxy s2 now and my only gripe so far is that i miss lockinfo. There are a couple of similar programs out there for android but they're just not as good. Sigh.... Still... I can drag and drop most media files and there good to go in seconds. No more faffing around waiting for itunes to convert them to an "approved" format. Crapple really need to relax their sphincter on that issue. There is really no valid excuse in my opinion.

I have Apple products, but I also have many other brands. I pick and choose based on my needs and the value that services that need, not on marketing or peer pressure. That being said. VHS won out over BetaMax, Blu-Ray over DVD-HD (and many other products). Betamax and DVD-HD were technically better products. But marketing (lack of) was their downfall. As a whole, humans are not interested in total cost of ownership, they just want something NOW that appeals to the eye and has the approval of others. The Apple products are well marketed and they do look very slick and sleek - hence the appeal. For that people are willing to overlook the fact that as an actual PHONE the iPhones are NOT that great, unless you are in a urban area. I have a 20.00 ugly Nokia Go-Phone that works great in the woods where the iPhone gets no signal for miles in any direction. If the iPhone came out in chocolate brown it would have NEVER sold, regardless of it's capabilities. People buy cars based on color, Houses based on landscaping. If it does not have eye appeal it is doomed, regardless of any other factor. I will try the Nokia, I have had Nokias in the past and they have been excellent devices.

so basically looking at these features on the Nokia website its just another android phone that tries to put apple to shame with its lame commercials apple talks about what its phone can do it doesn't waste time telling people what other phones can't do.
