Mockups of 16:9 and 3:2 iPhone With Bigger Display
The rumor that an upcoming iteration of the iPhone would feature a larger screen has had tons light shed onto it recently with constant speculation, and mockups consistently being churned out.
Dan Provost (via MacStories) addresses recent speculation regarding a larger 4-inch iPhone with mockups of what the device would look like with altered aspect ratios and a bigger display.

I think it should be like the early 80's was with boom boxes that people walked around on there shoulders and apple should make the new IPhone out of an IPad and then we could buy one device and save money. : )

If the iPhone 6 coming out this year doesn't have a bigger screen, I might end up getting the Lumia 900 phone. My work switched from iphones to 4.7 inch Android phones due to the screen size and I'll admit they were right to switch...the work we do flows a lot better now with a bigger screen. Now it's hard to go back to the iPhone's little screen on my personal phone.

I agree. iPhone 3:2 is much better looking than the iPhone 16:9, it's like you take an old PSP screen and just slap it in there.

The point of a bigger screen is so you zoom in less. What purpose does a 16:9 serve besides movies and less scrolling up or down? Plus the mic would be further away from the mouth. And just making it wider would make it less easily handled with one hand. If they don't increase the size then I'll definetely be switching to possibly the next Galaxy or may be the One X. The keyboard is really irritating me now knowing it could easily be fixed with a bigger screen or even implementing swipe.

Agreed! The phone only appears slightly wider then the 4s, though height appears the same. The screen it self is wider, and slightly taller, which is nice! I have looked at the droids with their bigger screens, 4.3"~4.7" and large cases. Frankly my hand gets cramped, and the phone feels like I'm holding a plate to my ear! The two and three 4.0" screen based droids felt good, so I'm certain an iPhone with a 4.0" would be great! Any thing larger then the 4.0", may as well get an iPad, or hold your breath that a 7" iPad is coming out.

oh yea way better looking, lets just hope that if apple enlarges the screen that they go with the iPhone 3:2 concept because it would be a major disappointment if they went with the 16:9 iPhone.

It seems to me that every time a new iPhone comes out all we talk is about the bigger screen and it does not happen. Are we going to say this every time, be wrong and then go haha I was wright when it does happen?

I wonder if Apple will oblige! I do think width will be a part of the new iPhone. Height? Not sure. Ultimately, comparing all of the rumors, LOL, I have no idea!!

What apple needs to do is make a 4.5 inch screen that has the same resolution as the ipad 1 and 2 so that the developers don't have to work as hard to adjust their apps to the new specifications.
