Evernote - the popular note-taking app that recently scored a funding round that valued it at $1 billion, has announced that it is buying Penultimate - the popular handwriting app for iPad from San Francisco-based startup Cocoa Box.

While Evernote is not buying the startup, the founder of Penultimate - Ben Zotto will be joining Evernote to head up future app development.
