T-Mobile USA to Launch iPhone Compatible 4G HSPA+ Network by End of the Year, 4G LTE Network in 2013
T-Mobile USA has announced that it plans to launch 4G HSPA+ network in the 1900 MHz band in a "large number of markets" by the end of the year. It also plans to roll out 4G LTE network in 2013.
T-Mobile USA, the fourth largest carrier in the US has not been able to offer Apple's iPhone as their 3G network is not compatible with the iPhone.
T-Mobile USA has announced that their 4G HSPA+ service will be compatible with Apple's iPhone.

Will the 3GS be able to take advantage of the change to 4G 1900Mhz HSPA+ (maybe at 3g speeds?) or will it still be limited to EDGE (2g)? thanks

Already on T-mobile, but that makes me very excited. I love android, but am really debating getting the iPhone if T-mobile carries it
-
Only the iphone 4S and newer devices will be supported. Older phones will still be stuck with edge (2g).

I already Jumped ship from AT&T. After paying upwards of $300/month, for the same services and lines T-mobile offered me $130/month. For me, I didnt even care that I'm on Edge network right now. Cant wait for the upgrades though!

ok so if a have the iPhone 4s factory unlock that mean that i can get the 4g speed ???

Add 4G to my $40 Simple Mobile Unlimited Plan... I will be a VERY happy camper!!! Anything G is better than 2G! ;-)

Paul is incorrect. The iphone 3g and 3gs will be compatible with 3g (but not 4g) Service on tmobile after the reframing. @ Neftali, your 4s will work on 4g.
-
the iPhone 4S does not have 4g, so yes it will run on 3g.

I've had a 2G, 3G, 3GS, and now i4 all on tmobile. This is really amazing news that I can finally get a data plan. Edge is worthless. Most Apps require 3G/4G or wifi and won't even load on edge.

Simple is the way to go. $50 a month for unlimited everything on 4g can't beat it

I came upon this article and I'm excited. There's a 1900 mhz phone that I wanted, if Tmobile support it on their HSDP network it would be the perfect match for my needs.

There is obviously a lot to know about this. I consider you made some good points in features also.
