How to Downgrade iPad 2 on iOS 5.1 / iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 5.0.1 Using Redsn0w
Dev team has released a new version of Redsn0w (0.9.11b1) that allows iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users to downgrade their iOS device to iOS 5.0.1 so that they can use the Absinthe jailbreak to jailbreak their device.
This is a step-by-step guide for users to downgrade their iPad 2 on iOS 5.1 or iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 5.0.1.

no need to upgrade to 5.1.1 if you are in 5.01. you can downgrade directly to 5.01 fron 5.1. it works in my iphone 4s. million thanks to developer!

In my opinion, if pod2g can reserve his exploit for ios 6, no need to release jailbreak 5.1 if redsnow can downgrade to 5.01. It works on my iPhone 4s.

If you are in 5.01 I think there is no problem. You can directly jailbreak using absinthe. You can save shsh using TU

Hi, uhm i have an ipad 2 wifi running on 4.3.2, what can i possibly do to jailbreak my device? Should i update my firmware to the lates version? I haven't tried jailbreaking this even one. Please help! : (

upgrade it to 5.1, then downgrade it to 5.0.1, then do the absinthe jailbreakif you follow some guides, they are very self explanatory, let's not act like a baby that needs feeding

jailbreak the 4.3.2 version first though, so you can save your blobs, or see if there is a way to save them without jail breaking it

Do not attempt to upgrade to 5.1.1 just so you can downgrade to 5.0.1.There is no way for you to get to 5.0.1 as you do not have the shsh blobs.Either jailbreak the firmware you have or wait till the next available jailbreak before you update.

Downgrade stops and window closes at stitching shsh.I have all the correct firmware and blobs are save locally and remotely for 5.0.1 but this keeps happening.Running redsn0w on windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.

I do not have the shsh blob saved locally but when i jailbreaked 5.0.1 i had opened cydia but now after upgrading i dont have cydia... (i am on ios 5.1)but should i try this method\are my shsh blob saved with cydia servers remotely

I am currently on 4.3.0 (Ipad 2) No SHSH Blobs at all.So should I update it to 5.1.1 or keep it at 4.3.0? Because I don't have ANY Shsh blobs at all and I heard Pod2g was going to release it for only 5.1.Thanks!

You may want to wait until pod2g releases his jailbreak.

You can find out if Cydia has cached the SHSH blobs by using TinyUmbrella. Launch TinyUmbrella with your iPad connected to your computer and click on the Save SHSH button. You should be list of save SHSH blobs under the General tab. You can also select the "Request SHSH from Cydia" option under the advanced tab to download them locally.
