Here's How Some Popular Apps Will Look Like on iPhone With Taller 4-Inch Display
It is widely speculated that Apple's next generation iPhone will come with a larger 4-inch screen.
However, it is not clear if the 4-inch screen will be bigger in both height and width or it will come with a taller screen, to reduce the effort required by developers to update their apps for the new screen resolution.

I sense "Photoshop". In reality this will break apps or apps would have a black bar at bottom and top until developer updated them to new aspect ratio! This wont happen. Seems kind of like a bandaid solution to making a screen larger. I think if anything Apple would enlarge the entire screen width and height.

We don't need extra resolution you can't actually see (since its beyond 300dpi). All this talk of changing screen resolution is nuts cos it will just break compatibility with existing apps. Sure increase the screen size, but leave the resolution alone, even if the DPI drops slightly.

Oh and whatever numbskull created these mockups have extended the height 1/2 an inch instead of measuring diagonally top left to bottom right.

does anyone remember - once steve told that he does not like to produce bigger screen iphones (keeping samsung in mind) and current size is good ...while releasing iphone 3s or iphone4..i still remember, now how come apple is coming up with 4 inch?

GS3 has a 4.8" screen with 1280x720 resolution, I don't think 4" with 640 x 1152 is going to put up much of a fight...also the iphone has a 4:3 AR which is already quite awkward for HD stuff, changing it to 640 x 1152 would just piss people off even more

I got small hands and my droid razr and droid x felt great in my hand. If u don't want an iPhone with a bigger screen, than your hands must be smaller than mines :-)

One reason developers like myself are ditching Andoid is fragmentation. The last thing we need is another aspect ratio and slightly different pixel resolutions that are so high resolution you can't tell the difference!

Thats kind of what I was thinking. This just showed apps that had a scrolling UI, but not any that don't scroll. Pointless blog post.

4.5", 1280x1920, thiner, wider. These specs would make me change my iphone 4s to iphone 5. To be honest it didn't worth upgrading my 4 to 4s. So if Apple dont give more i dont upgrade
