How to Convert iOS 5.1.1 Tethered Jailbreak to Untethered Jailbreak Using Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether
Hot on the heels of releasing Absinthe 2.0 - the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, the Chronic Dev team has also released Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether jailbreak on Cydia, which allows users who have a tethered jailbroken iOS device on iOS 5.1.1 to convert it into untethered jailbreak.

No, this works only if you've a tethered jailbroken iPhone on iOS 5.1.1. It won't work with iOS 5.0.1.

is there a way to keep apps and tweaks if iphone 4 is on 5.1 tethered redsnow?update to 5.1.1 and run redsnow(which is tethered)then install rocky racoon ? will this work or is there just no way to keep cydia tweaks?

So I just updated my unlocked iPhone 4 from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. I was jailbroken tethered using redsn0w..I had my tickets saved, since I had originally unlocked my phone (for tmobile) using Sam...I downloaded cyberduck on my Mac ,updated my iTunes and also my phone.. I was going to follow steps that I saw on YouTube in order to unlock my phone again but after I updated my phone to 5.1.1 using iTunes,,, after the restart , I noticed that my iPhone 4 is still unlocked to tmobile.. So I didn't need to take any steps at all to unlock the device ...it's already unlocked without me even installing cydia...so now I will jailbreak my device, even though it's already unlocked

I have an ipod 4g and after installing the rocky racoon and rebooting the devide, it gets stuck in the boot logo, any hlp?

Iphone 4 ios 5.1.1 thethered jailbroken at shop. Shop said i can only reboot while connected to computer. But i found this method,install Rocky Racoon trough Cydia. Now i've rebooted 3 times,no problem. So now i have an unthethered jailbroken phone. If u haven't jailbroken,there is a new method too.

Hi !I have tethered jailbroken my iphone 4,ios 5.1.1,using the latest version of Redsnow,but can't find Rocky Racoon to turn it to untether.Other option,can anybody,tell me,if I can use Absinthe 2.0/2.0.1 to untether jailbreak my iphone 4.???? Awaiting a reply....

Help..... I have restored my iPhone 4 about 4 times today and still having trouble jail-breaking my device.I am using Absinthe 2.0.2 and when I go to jailbreak it comes up saying 'Looks like you tried to jailbreak and it failed. Will try to fix it". It then asks to remove the phone and plug it back in again. I do this and then the same message again and it keeps going round in a loop.I restored and still the same problem. I also tried jail breaking with Red Snow. This worked but when I downloaded Rocky Racoon it kept saying that my device was not supported, so I was stuck on a tethered boot.
