Sick of my home button

Anyone else facing issues with their home buttons? Mine's become annoyingly irresponsive, it's definitely a hardware problem. Using the assisted touch widget bother me a lot, and doesn't let me have the whole screen to myself.
Any way I could get rid of this problem? (apart form buying a new phone of course)

Did you try this trick?

It seems to have worked for quite a few readers. Frankly, we are quite surprised it worked.
The alternative if you've jailbroken your iPhone is to install Zephyr - its quite awesome even if you're having problems with your Home button.

@iPhoneHacks: tried it, doesn't work. Will try the other tweaks on Cydia

Download USEFULLCONS in Cydia 99 Cents. You can also set up your phone with swipes in "Activator" it will save all your buttons!

@nick balesteri: Yup, Activator's pretty awesome. I use the slide up gesture in any app to bring up the multitask switcher, avoiding double clicking the home button.
(I don't know if many people know this, but you can even post tweets from anywhere in your phone by assigning a gesture in Activator to the tweet action. I use the double tap on status bar gesture. Pretty useful, and free!)
I wish the iPhone had enough screen real estate to accept 4/5 finger gestures just like the iPad. I hardly use the home button on my iPad. -
Zephyr from Cydia, anybody?
You can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close app and/or bring up the switcher.
If you don't want to pay, you can use Activator but personally, I find Zephyr better than Activator. Just me though.
