What effect does this have on (1) the phone ringing and (2) the alarm? I would love use this at night (instead of turning data off like I do now) but I use the alarm to wake up and I want the phone to ring if someone calls.

@G73 this does not have any impact on the alarm or the phone ringing ... it just disable banner notifications and alerts from apps.

For whatever reason, this silences everything except email notifications. Thus, it is great but useless.
