iPhone Dev Team has just announced that Linux 2.6 kernel has been successfully ported to the iPhone. Dev team member planetbeing has been credited for achieving this milestone along with CPICH, cmw, poorlad, ius and saurik. Hey people as you all know the iphone is not open source. Apple does not like people hacking their sh!t. If this takes off we can do so much cool stuff with the iphone running linux if people jump on board. I must say this is an amazing development.

An Open Source Iphone is always a great news, hopefully one day there will be a variety of optional OS available for the device. It's a very good news!
