How do i unlock my iphone so i can use a different provider?

i have a prepaid iphone and i want to change sims but its locked to 1 provider and i want to change to another provider how do i do that?

    Options
    Currently it is possible to unlock iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 with older basebands (iPhone 4 - 01:59:00 and iPhone 3GS - 05:13:04). So if you have one of these and have preserved the baseband, then you should be able to unlock your iPhone using Ultrasn0w from Cydia.
