Looking for direction in finding a good Iphone 4S jailbreak program been doing some research and I find a lot of horror stories any help greatly appreciated

Hey @RBH check out this page, which has links to the step-by-step guide to jailbreak.
If you have a lot of media on your iPhone 4S, then it may be a good idea to take a backup of your iPhone and then restore it with stock iOS 5.1.1 firmware, jailbreak it either using Absinthe or Redsn0w and then restore it from the backup from iTunes or iCloud. Otherwise there is a higher chance of hitting an issue. -
You should also bookmark http://www.iphonehacks.com/jailbreak for the future when new releases of iOS come out, if it ain't there, there's no public jailbreak!
