trouble after jaibreaking iphone 4

the site i downloDED IT FROM, said something about me having to teather it to my laptop everytime i had to reboot it (i didnt know if it meant i have to reboot after i get eACH NEW APP) and i used redsnow and i didnt know if i am supossed to have a redsnow icon on my phone, i obviously dont. so i downloDED a few things and all the sudden when i push the cydia app it wont let me go to it. i think i cant get to any app that i got after the jailbreak. i think i need to reboot it but dont know how helpppp

sounds like you have a tethered jailbreak.
Which firmware are you on? If you're on the latest one (5.1.1) you can do an untethered jailbreak using Absinthe. http://iphonehacks.com/jailbreak -
If you're not on the latest firmware, restore your device via iTunes and then proceed as per the instructions in the link above.
