What is a software that works for data recovery

I was listening to a video i recorded. Got on a train and paused it and put it in my pocket to board. When i was on the train i took it back out to keep listening/watching and it had deleted in my pocket. I have downloaded (and bought 1) various software i found online, but the one I bought, while it seemed to recover a big file (the video was an hour) it will not play on quicktime, realplayer, VLF, or any other player I have tried. I get an error on quicktime that says, 'The movie could not be opened. The file is not a movie.'

Anyone can help?

if the video was on youtube use youtube downloader in order to get it and since quicktime should be your main player for music and videos put it in the itunes media file then sync it to your ipod
