Question about jailbraking iPhone 3G

So, I jailbroke my iPhone 3G 8 GB on 4.2.1 with snowbreeze and unlocked it with ultrasn0w. My modem firmware is 06.15.00
I have another 3G 16 GB jailbroken on 4.2.1 and I dodnt jailbroke it, this new one is much slower and my push notofications doesnt work. Can anyone tell me how can I make it faster if its possible, and how to fix push notifications, and did I choose good jailbrake, is there better option?
