Error 1601 and 3194 help please

Hi, I wanted to update my iPod Touch 4G 4.3.3 to iOS 5.0.1. I've put my iPod to DFU mode and now I have problem trying to restore my iPod to 5.0.1. Whenever I try to restore, error 3194 will appear. I've search the internet on how to fix this and found the method where you edit the hosts file. It did fixed error 3194 but when I tried to restore again, error 1601 will appear. Can someone help me?

You won't be able to restore to an OS that isn't the latest release unless you have SHSH blobs stored. That means you can only update to iOS 5.1.1 right now.
This is probably the reason you're getting the error. -
Apple has stopped signing iOS 5.0.1, so as Rounak mentioned, if you don't have SHSH blobs then you won't be able to downgrade.

So it is safe to restore iOS 5.1.1 from iTunes itself?
