The thing that sucks is every time you hit the shortcut on your home screen, it opens Safari like the solutions above, giving you a dialing choice. I wish Apple would release a better situation. For being the smartest smartphone on the market, sometimes it leaves me scratching my head as to how dumb it is.

Thanks for considering Visual Dial and writing about the app!
I'd like to highlight that Visual Dial does not require an Internet Connection once you use the speed dial. It's only required during the initial creation of the speed dial icon.
The root cause is Apple's limited SDK in this area. Visual Dial does NOT connect to a website every time you hit the speed dial icon. We've applied another trick to make it available offline!
