Jailbreak/data question

I have a iPhone 4S running os 6.0.1 and 5gb data plan and I'm the only phone on my plan with AT&T...I keep using all or going over my data plan every month and a friend told me to jailbreak/unlock my iPhone for unlimited free data....Do these versions of jailbreaks as in redsnow, etc. make using your phone data free somehow?

Tldr: jailbreaking = free data usage???
