Does evasi0n jailbreak support iPad 1?

Does anyone know if you can use the evasion jailbreak on an iPad 1 with 6.1,I know it says for the iPad 2,3, and 4th generation

Since iOS 6.1 is not compatible with iPad 1, you won't be able to install it on your device, so you won't with able to use evasi0n jailbreak.

The highest version available for iPad 1 is iOS 5.1.1.
Apple discontinues support for older devices due to various reasons such as performance issues etc.
However, it was a little intriguing that they stopped support for iPad 1, but continued to support iPhone 3GS. -
