my jailbroke ipod touch will not load

i have a 2nd gen ipod touch and its jailbroken. but when i plug it in it will show the apple sign but then it flips over and turns into a skull then it freezes now i have tryed a hard restart and i have tryed the hold the volume up but nothing i try works Please help !!!! is there anything i can do to get this thing to work again?
