Hi. I have an Ipad 2 with version 5.1 (9b176) and was planning to jailbreak it. But then I heard that this current version has not been jailbroken. Here is the question

Can I update my firmware to a new version and then only jailbreak it? Thx for answering

    If you update, you will go straight to iOS 6.1.3. iPad 2 on iOS 6.1.3 currently cannot be jailbroken.

    It is not possible to upgrade any other iOS version which can be jailbroken for example iOS 6.1.2 as Apple has stopped signing the firmware file. So if you upgrade you will lose your jailbreak.
