i went through the instruction just as you have posted to do steps 1-20 i downloaded iOS 6.0 firmware file and after it rebooted with pineapple when i unlock the phone it does not have cydia any where on home screen or when i run a search using Spotlight. I have never had a jail broke phone nor done it before how do i know if the jail broke work or not and why didn't it put cydia on my phone

Check troubleshooting tip #1 here. It looks like you may have used the wrong ipsw file for the jailbreak:
