Trying to jailbreak my iPhone 4 on 6.1.3... ran into a big problem... HELP

I'm new to jailbreaking, and am trying to do this to my iPhone 4. I've tried other iOs firmware, and they didn't work... so I tried the iOS 6.0 firmware, and now Redsn0w is stuck at "Uploading first stage" and my phone is still stuck in DFU mode, but the screen is blank, and I can't turn my phone on at all. How long does the first stage take to complete? It's been at least a half hour...

Hardware reset it.

I've had the same issue several times. First make sure that when you open redsnow you run as admin. Make sure that you select your 6.0 ipsw and that it is the correct one for your device. Put the phone in dfu mode and try again. It may take a couple tries but I've never had a problem resetting and starting again other than 1 time I had to use tiny umbrella to kick it out of recovery mode. Good luck
