what is shsh blobs?
I backed up to itunes before I updated to i0s 7.
Would they be in there?

No they won't be. Blobs can be saved using TinyUmbrella, Redsn0w or iFaith. They are only useful for A4 devices and below ie iPhone 4 and older. If you have not ever Jailbroken before or have never saved them yourself then you can more or less disregard them as iOS 7 and upwards no longer uses Blobs in the same way so you can only use them to downgrade/re-restore to iOS 6.1.2 and below currently
