Upgrading ios version

Hi, I have an ipod that can only get as high as ios 5.1.1 - i have jail broken it now, is there a way to get a higher ios version?

No, in fact 5.1.1 is the most battery efficient and stable. Stay on it

P.S. even if you could upgrade it would lag so bad...

I think you are using a higher version, so no need to upgrade.
