missing /var access after ios7 jb

It has been a week or so on an iphone 5 ios7.0.4 jailbreak and I am still missing the access to /var. Everything from cydia that is compatible with ios 7 installs and runs fine. I can access /var through iFile but from a computer, it doesn't show up on the directory.
