NEED HELP 6.1.6 ipod 4THG went bad!!!

So I'm trying to jailbreak my friends ipod touch 4th gen for him that has a broken home button using a ENTER_DFU restore ispw. Once I got it to that point I tried to jailbreak it using a 6.0 ios ispw. when it got to the point where it said loading first stage then it sat there for about 5 min. Thinking it just got stuck i quit and went to restart the app. However now the ipod won't turn on or go into recovery mode. What can I do!?!?! Is all hope lost!! Please help me!

You should be able to at least put it in recovery mode, so you can restore it.
You can check this guide to ensure you are doing it right:

You can also try different ports just to be sure it is not a port related issue that is not kicking the device into recovery mode.
